La Brea Tar Pits: Not only is this a museum but also one of the most famous active ice age fossil excavation sites in the world. In LA you say? Yes! If you have never been there this is your perfect opportunity to learn all about the wildlife that roamed the area thousands of years ago. Over the years they have recovered over 600 di?erent species of plants and animals. Here you can discover history while also being a part of it. Because not only can you pretend to be a paleontologist but if you are over 16 years old you can even volunteer to help with the excavation process! Eat your heart out Indiana Jones. Admission runs $3-$16 depending on your age and up to $19 to include the tar pits passport.
